CAIRO -- President Hosni Mubarak will meet the demands of protesters, military and ruling party officials, the Associated Press reported Thursday, in the strongest indication yet that Egypt's longtime president may be about to give up power.

Anti-government protesters continued to gather in Cairo's Tahrir Square and outside the Egyptian parliament Thursday, as demonstrations to demand the departure of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak showed no sign of abating. (Feb. 10)

The military's supreme council was meeting Thursday, without Mubarak, its commander in chief, and announced on state TV its "support of the legitimate demands of the people," AP said.

A spokesman said the council was in permanent session to explore "what measures and arrangements could be made to safeguard the nation, its achievements and the ambitions of its great people."

Gen. Hassan al-Roueini, military commander for the Cairo area, told thousands of protesters in central Tahrir Square, "All your demands will be met today."

This is her. Ragad Waleed, the 31-year old former air stewardess from Lebanon that Sarawak's scandal-plagued chief minister Taib Mahmud waited 75 years for!

Finally, Taib threw her the most lavish wedding reception that Sarawak has ever seen. It is his second marriage after Polish-born wife Laila Taib of 50 years died of cancer in April last year.

CAIRO - THREE people were killed in gunfire aimed at anti-regime protesters in Tahrir Square in central Cairo early on Thursday, taking the death toll of clashes in the past 24 hours to six, a medic said.



Witnesses said that there were many people wounded by fire coming from the October Bridge where partisans of embattled Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak were positioned.

Demonstrations In Egypt In Video

Late on Tuesday, with protesters still gathered in Cairo’s Tahrir Square after dark, some of those restrictions seem to have lapsed. Gigi Ibrahim, an Egyptian-American blogger and activist whose stream of regular Twitter updates and mobile phone photographs showing the protests in Cairo came to an abrupt halt in midafternoon, posted a new note late on Tuesday January 25, 2011 :

After internet services were disconnected in Egypt, protesters were prevented from speaking to the world. But thanks to John Scott Railton, a Los Angeles based student, who took upon himself the task of uploading messages on micro blogging site twitter. He started making calls and posting messages on a twitter account he created for the Egyptian protests.
